Important Notice Regarding a McKesson Cybersecurity Incident

Important Notice Regarding a McKesson Cybersecurity Incident
Posted: October 12, 2026

Nebraska Hematology-Oncology, P.C. (“NHO”) is sharing this notice to make our patients aware of a cybersecurity incident involving McKesson, one of our vendors. We are providing this information in the interest of transparency and to help any patient who wishes to learn more.

What happened

McKesson, a national healthcare company that provides technology and supply services to medical oncology practices across the country, has reported that it experienced a cybersecurity incident. McKesson has stated that an unauthorized party gained access to certain information, that some of that information was later made publicly accessible, and that its investigation is ongoing.

How this may relate to NHO

NHO uses McKesson for certain services and supplies. Because of that relationship, it is possible that some NHO patient information could be involved in this incident. At this time, however, McKesson has not notified NHO that any NHO patient’s information was affected, and we have not confirmed that any NHO patient data was part of this incident. We are sharing this notice so that our patients are informed while we continue to seek answers.

What NHO is doing

We take the privacy of our patients’ information seriously. NHO has been in contact with McKesson to determine whether any NHO patient information was involved, and we are actively monitoring the situation. If we learn that NHO patient information was affected, we will update this notice and take any further steps that may be appropriate.
